Cambodia - Siem Reap & Battambang 4N5D Curated Trip - Tour
  • 4 Nights 5 Days

Cambodia - Siem Reap & Battambang 4N5D Curated Trip

₹ 36,000

Cambodia is a beautiful country bordered by Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Gulf of Thailand. Indian origin kings ruled over 600 years from 802 AD, facilitated the spread of first Hinduism and then Buddhism constructed more than 1,000 temples and monuments in Angkor alone. Angkor Wat is the most famous of these structures and is designated as a World Heritage Site. Angkor Wat ("Capital Temple") is a temple complex in Cambodia and one of the largest religious monuments in the world, on a site measuring 402 acres. It was built by then King Suryavarman II, migrants from southern India[3] in the early 12th century. It's a must-see place for everyone. Trip Highlights: Visiting two diverse destinations - Siem Reap & Battambang Visiting World's largest religious monument at Angkor Wat, UNESCO listed Seeing many other beautiful and heritage temples and monuments Traveling to Kulen Mountains, seeing 9th Century 'The River of a Thousand Lingas' Watching Apsara Dance, the traditional dance from Cambodia Experiencing Cambodian Culture Top rated hotel stays and taking the guests to excellent Indian restaurants Itinerary in brief: DAY DESTINATION MEAL Day 1 Arrival – Siem Reap – Floating Village - Dinner Show D Day 2 Sunrise at Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom & Ta Prom Temple B Day 3 Phnom Kulen, Kbal Spean, Banteay Srey B Day 4 Siem Reap transfer to Battambang & Tour B Day 5 Battambang to Siem Reap & Departure B * B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner   Itinerary in detail:   Day 1: Arrival - Siem Reap (Meal - Dinner) Arrive at Siem Reap. We will facilitate Airport Transfer to the hotel.  Soon after checking in and freshening up, we will visit Chong Kneas floating village, It's one of the richest inland fishing grounds in the world, home to not only over 200 different species of fish but also to over one million people. In fact, the majority of these people actually live directly on the water in houseboats which create pockets of floating villages throughout this 1,042 sq. mile lake.   Later in the evening, we will see a spectacular Apsara Dance show at a Restaurant with Dinner. For those travelers thirsting for cultural highlights of Cambodia, no visit to Cambodia is complete without witnessing at least one traditional Khmer dance performance, often referred to as 'Apsara Dance' after one of the most popular Classical dance pieces. Traditional Khmer dance is better described as 'dance-drama' in that the dances are not merely dance but also meant to convey a story or message.   We will go back to the hotel for the overnight stay.   Day 2: Sunrise at Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom & Ta Prohm (Meal: Breakfast)   We start early to see the sunrise at the Mother of all temples, Angkor Wat. Believed to be the world's largest religious building, this temple is the perfect fusion of symbolism and symmetry and a source of pride and strength to all Khmers.   Then we will drive to Angkor Thom, which was the masterpiece of King Jayavarman VII. Following the occupation of Angkor by the Chams from 1177 to 1181, the new king decided to build an impregnable fortress at the heart of his empire.   We will visit Bayon Temple. At the exact center of Angkor Thom, this is an eccentric expression of the creative genius and inflated ego of Cambodia’s most celebrated king. Its 54 towers are each topped off with the four faces of Avalokiteshvara (Buddha of Compassion), which bear more than a passing resemblance to the king himself.   We will continue our journey to view the Terrace of the Leper King. Along the Terrace of Elephants, originally used as a viewing gallery for the king to preside over parades, performances and traditional sports. At the southern end lies the Baphuon, once one of the most beautiful temples at Angkor, dating from the reign of Uditayavarman 1 in the 11th century.   We will then visit Ta Prohm "Tomb Raider" fame. Ta Prohm has been abandoned to the elements, a reminder that while empires rise and fall, the riotous power of nature marches on, oblivious to the dramas of human history.   Finish your visit with the beautiful view of sunset from the Sra Srang Pond which was built in the late 12 centuries for royal bathing. Returning to your hotel for relax and refreshment.    In the evening, we will take a relaxed walk around busy Pub Street or shopping at Angkor Night Market. Lunch & Dinner not included. Overnight in Siem Reap.   Day 3: Phnom Kulen, the River of a Thousand Lingas – Phnom Penh (Meal: Breakfast)   We’ll drive 48 kms North of Siem Reap to visit the holy Kulen Mountains, also referred to as Phnom Kulen (“Mountain of the Lychees”) by locals. The sandstone from this mountain was the main supplier of construction materials for the Angkor Kingdom. We’ll stop at the sacred site of The River of a Thousand Lingas, which features hundreds of lingas carved in the sandstone bed of the river, which date back to the 9th century. Further downstream, large blocks of stone, also under water, are carved with Apsaras dancers and Vishnu figures. Next on the agenda is a wander around the mountain-top pagoda which is home to relics, statues and a large reclining Buddha. The last mountain stop will be Kulen Waterfall, featuring a natural pool which is the perfect place to cool off on a hot day and a great picnic spot too, so that’s what we’ll do.   Next visit Banteay Srey Temple, Banteay Srei is built largely of a harder sandstone that can be carved like wood. Brick and laterite were used only for the enclosure walls and some structural elements. The temple is known for the beauty of its sandstone lintels and pediments. A pediment is the roughly triangular space above a rectangular doorway or openings. At Banteay Srei, pediments are relatively large in comparison to the openings below and take a sweeping gabled shape. For the first time in the history of Khmer architecture, whole scenes of mythological subject-matter are depicted on the pediments.    On the way back, you will have a quick stop at Preah Dak Village, a famous and popular place for souvenirs such as objects and arts. Visitors can discover beautiful places and nature.   Lunch & Dinner not included. Overnight stay at Siem Reap.   Day 4: Siem Reap transfer to Battambang (Meal: Breakfast)   This morning after breakfast at 8:00am, Check out from your hotel, and our driver transfer you to Battambang. It takes around 3 hours driving by private bus. Lunch by your own account. Check in to your hotel. Afternoon your English-Speaking Guide & driver will pick you up from your hotel and then starting tour to experience the rail vehicle service from Cambodia called “Bamboo Train”. You will be interest and enjoy way of seeing something of Cambodia’s rural landscape. And then you will continue to visit Bat cave at Phnom Sampov. Take a hidden path to the mouth of the cave to watch millions of bats swarm at sunset. You can take upwards of 20 minutes for the cave to clear.
